As the IPL, aka Indian Premier league enters its sixth week, we are observing that the Mumbai Indians team despite having the best in business seems to be languishing at the bottom of the table, just one level above Royal Challengers Bangalore aka RCB.  The reasons are not too far to seek. Reliance, the current owners after seeing Mumbai Indians not making the finals in the last two seasons and hitting the nadir in 2023, decided that the best solution was to rope in Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat Titans. They saw that Hardik was instrumental in making an entirely new side, Gujarat Titans a formidable team which went on to  win IPL in 2022. However, the MI owners failed to see the real reason for Hardik's success. Hardik was the captain, however he led a team:). In the case of Mumbai Indians, he was leading Captain of Indian Test Cricket team and a person who was considered to be a possible contender for the Mumbai Indians Captaincy. By naming Hardik as Captain, MI management killed whatever were the chances of Mumbai Indians revival. We have analyzed in this video what is the necessity for success.
