Why SSLV failed:

This is a short video on why SSLV failed during its maiden launch. It was carrying two satellites, one of them was the AzaadiSAT, developed by 750 girl students from all over India. It was somewhat unfortunate that this mission failed. However, if we look at all rocket launches, till the last minute, anything can still happen and the results are unpredictable. That’s what would have been portrayed in the movie Rocketry too. In this case, the failure was due to the satellites getting placed in an elliptical orbit, instead of a circular one. This again was due to some system failure. One possible reason that Isro acknowledges is the shorter span for the Satellite launch as they wanted to coincide with the Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. However, luck was not on Isro’s side. However, one word of consolation is a dialogue I remember from Surya’s movie, Vel. In that Saranya delivers a punch, If a certain thing does not happen now, it is going to happen in a better way next time!
