How to prevent future Udaipur incidents:

Hi Friends, you all must have seen in the news how a Tailor named Kanhaiya Lal was brutally murdered in his shop by two Muslims for his tweet supporting Nupur Sharma's statement on Prophet Mohammed. Whatever was the background, this incident needs to be condemned as it depicts the radicalization of Society. National Investigation agency has taken it up as an act of terror and started it's investigation. While there is no doubt that this incident should be investigated in total, we also need to look at how to prevent such incidents and analyze the root cause.

The main provocation was Nupur Sharma's comments on the Prophet in a TV debate. Her participation was totally uncalled for as the BJP had advised everyone in the party not to comment upon the Gyanvapi mosque issue. The TV debate was convened by Times Now to discuss about Gyanvapi Mosque issue. That issue is again sub-judice where a group of devotees have gone to court requesting regular visits to the portion of the Mosque where Hindu Gods were found. That issue is local to Uttar Pradesh state. While the BJP has disassociated itself from it, Nupur seems to have walked into a well laid trap. definitely she was provoked, but that seems to have lost in the collateral damage her comments had caused. She shouldn't have gone there in the first place. The organization of the debate was again a cause of the Press behaving in an irresponsible manner.

Any sensitive issue and that is dear to a religion is not a subject of debate as issues related to religion, water and language are dear to one's heart. Keeping that sentiments in mind, Times now shouldn't have organized that time. With the damage totally done, the channel has smartly disassociated itself from the controversy. The Central Government had to fight hard to temper the issue. This was uncalled for when the world itself is undergoing lot of changes. During the debate, Nupur had made a remark and this innocent Tailor had also tweeted on the subject which seems to have provoked the extremist elements. If such elements are allowed to take the law into their hands, then what for have we created a country and written a constitution. The only way to prevent such lives being lost is not to involve ourselves in unwanted debates, especially on issues that are very sensitive and controversial.
