Hi Friends, welcome to our channel, Balikabalida Thalaivarda. This is a short video on Why our Tamilnadu Finance Minister didn't attend the GST council meeting. You would have observed in all news magazines and online portals that PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan didn't attend the gst council meeting. For the last one and half years, it was mainly over the internet due to Covid. However, this time the meeting took place in Lucknow where all GST council members were supposed to attend. PTR gave the go by, as according to him, he preferred an online meeting and traveling to Lucknow over 3 flights was very dreary as he had to change three flights. Although the reasons stated by him were funny, we need to appreciate him for his candidness. The other reason that we saw online was that he had to attend a Valaikappu function of his close relative. Valaikappu is a function where a carrying woman is adorned with Bangles during her pregnancy, closer to the delivery date. We are unable to react to this answer. We are unable to fathom if he had understood the seriousness of his job. One thing is certain, he is not a pucca Politician. If he were a politician and if he had wanted to avoid the meeting, he would have come out with a bundle of lies or other reasons like he was unwell, stomach upset, hospitalization etc. The fact he didn't state any of these, needs to be appreciated whole heartedly. We therefore need to appreciate his honesty, although the reason he gave out was really funny. If he cant go, he could have reputed his finance secretary. However, it didn't happen. Another reason is that in 2018 itself stalin had tweeted that petrol and diesel should be brought under gst. Now, to avoid that being discussed, ptr avoided the meeting. Dmk doesn't want petrol and diesel to be brought under gst. The fear that discussion on bringing in petrol and diesel into GST might have prompted PTR to avoid GST council meet. One reason PTR is being mercilessly trolled is due to his previous utterances and projecting he is too big for his boots. The same thing also happens to bjp leaders when they say something or do something, like KT Raghavan episode. Bjp projects itself as a party of virtues and naturally if something untoward happens, gets trolled. On a lighter vein, I also found a hidden reason as to why Lehman brothers collapsed in 2008. PTR keeps boasting that he had worked for Lehman brothers in Singapore. Lehman brothers had gone bankrupt during his tenure with the firm in 2008. This is indeed an Alchemist moment. Those who have read the book would know. Essentially, what the book says in an indirect way that we are looking for can be found at a place where we are not even looking for! elders would normally say that if we search for something, we can find something else. In a similar way, on a lighter vein, we are able to find out one of the reasons for it's collapse. We probably feel that People at the firm were too busy in attending to their personal work rather than official work. They might have been too busy with Bangle ceremony, attending Marriages, Ear piercing ceremony for kids, rather than doing official work. This seems a plausible reason. However, PTR would do well to remember that his utterances are only creating a bad image for his party and making people believe that he is not serious about his business.
