What is the most significant achievement of Jayalalithaa:

Hi Friends, welcome to our channel. This is a short video to commemorate the death anniversary of Jayalalithaa. We are trying to present what is the most significant achievement of  Jayalalithaa. Amma or mother was what she was called by her followers. We can term her as a politician who was not cunning as Karunanidhi but more popular and revered by her followers and foes alike. Apart from MGR and Annadurai, Jayalalithaa (JJ) was one of the few politicians to have died while in power. That is what every politician aspires for! Even Karunanidhi could not emulate this feat. If we take JJ's political career as mentioned by her itself, she really swam across a river of fire successfully to don the mantle of ADMK leader after the death of her mentor late M.G.Ramachandran, aka MGR. One of her major achievements I would say was her Veeranam water scheme.  This was no mean achievement for which the media didn't giver her due.  Another big achievement of JJ was handling the bus strike that took place in 2002. This again was instigated by the DMK in the background.  This was a hard lesson taught to Government employees which in the long run might have made them turn against the DMK. Had she not lost the 2004 Parliamentary elections to the DMK, the fate of Tamilnadu politics would have been different. Even if her government was corrupt between 1991 and 1996, she entrusted Power ministry to Kannappan who was a capable person. If People remember well, there were no major power cuts during that tenure and even when she was voted out of power in 2006, the state was a surplus power state. This does speak volumes of her capability. Had she not been corrupt, as we reiterate again, she could have entered national politics and been a real challenger to the top post. However, that didn't happen. Still, her achievements are worth remembering during her death anniversary. Even people in the DMK like actor Thyagu address her as Amma, meaning mother. That is one of the single biggest achievements of Jayalalithaa. We hoped you liked this video.
