Why Mumbai Indians lost to Kolkata Knight Riders
Hi Friends, this is a short review of the match between Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022. Contrary to expectations, Mumbai Indians lost and that too with nearly 4 overs to spare and creating an unlikely Man of the match in Cummins. This is the third successive defeat for Mumbai Indians and more such defeats would relegate them to the lower rung with little chance of a recovery. The main reason is their score of just 160 runs. even though this was achieved with some lusty hitting by Pollard towards the end, it seemed to be a below par total in the current conditions. A total of over 200 was overrun in this IPL and no score was bound to be par. What we feel is that a score over 200 might have helped for Mumbai Indians but that didn't happen. Their score turned out to be less and the Pyrotechnics of Cummins didn't help Mumbai Indians either. Cummins aim was to hit a boundary or a sixer and he achieved it and scored a fifty of just 14 balls. Mumbai Indians may have to go back to the drawing board. Rohit has not been amongst the runs and he needs to introspect as to why he keeps getting out to short pitched deliveries. Unless they score in excess, Mumbai Indians are unlikely to make the last four and end up with the wooden spoon this year also.
